Da Nang

So relieved to be off the bus we now had 3 days to enjoy Da Nang. It’s a beautiful city, clean, safe, amazing beaches, restaurants with so much seafood in large tanks and a lovely lovely vibe. The evenings are warm and the city comes to life with night markets and neon lights up the skyline. The river is busy with party boats and the dragon bridge breaths fire on the hour at weekends.

The beaches are long, sandy and empty. The South China Sea is not cold and invites you to jump the surf. Sun beds are £1 or 30000 dong. It’s an odd currency to get used to and I need to stop flashing my dong about in public. We take out 3million dong at a time so I suppose we are millionaires of sorts!!!

We took a trip to Ba Na Hills. The first cable car was 6 kms in length and took over 15 minutes above dramatic forest and national park. A second cable car took us up further and by the time we came home we were above the clouds. Before then we walked the golden bridge and saw wonderful gardens and attractions such as free climbing.

To conclude, we both really enjoyed Da Nang, it’s a great city, our hotel was 2 minutes from the beach front and the food was excellent. Well worth visiting.
