We had booked to travel from Muk to Langkawi with tiger travel and islanders had said it was unreliable so when we got to the pier and all the other 20 plus passengers got onto another boat heading to Langkawi we were at a point of worry. We needn’t have because although 20 minutes lateContinue reading “Into Malaysia and Langkawi”

Krabi and koh muk island
We left Phuket by taxi and ferry and arrived in Krabi about 2 hours later. The ferry was smooth and fast and we were happy to arrive surrounded by some beautiful beaches. Our hotel was quite remote with only 9 bungalows so not much to do but a fantastic place. We had the pool andContinue reading “Krabi and koh muk island”
From Phuket to Pukette!
So after a nice flight from Siem Reap we reached Thailand and Phuket. We made an active decision to avoid Bangkok as we felt ‘templed out’ and the thought of relaxing was more appealing. The hotel we booked was 5 star and didn’t disappoint with the exception of the evening singing duo who were bloodyContinue reading “From Phuket to Pukette!”
Don’t go here!!
You need to read this sign carefully and understand what your buying into! I waited over 45 minutes for the staff to turn up, none of them could find the place. When I eventually got myself comfortable for my massage the lady doing it walked straight into the wall and knocked herself out. No happyContinue reading “Don’t go here!!”
Siem Reap

We had come in to the town avoiding the main touristy area and were initially a little disappointed with what we thought Siem Reap had to offer. However on discoveringContinue reading “Siem Reap”

The following day we took time to relax in the hotel pool and went outContinue reading “Phnom Penn continued”
Cambodia. Phnom Penh part 1, The Killing Fields.
The entry into Cambodia via the Mekong River was a great experience and walking up the jetty at the port in Phnom Penh started a whole new adventure. Still a busy town but far more cars than bikes. Cambodia is, it appears at first impression more affluent. Another little bonus for us that we missedContinue reading “Cambodia. Phnom Penh part 1, The Killing Fields.”
3 day Mekong Delta and River cruise into Cambodia.
Wow, what a way to say Goodbye Vietnam. We took a 3 day tour on a variety of boats along the Mekong River. We went to floating markets, outback forests and creeks. Then on the last day a 4 hour speed boat trip through immigration control and into Cambodia. We have loved Vietnam so much,Continue reading “3 day Mekong Delta and River cruise into Cambodia.”
Breaking news
A man in our hotel went mad last week and bought 4 Mercedes Benz, 2 BMW’s and 6 Toyota’s registering them all in his own name. The authorities have confirmed its officially the first case of “car owner virus” in Vietnam! 🙂
Cu Chi Tunnels
The Cu Chi Tunnels were used by the Vietnamese to hide from American troops during battle in the forest areas of southern Vietnam. They were also able to offer the element of surprise to the Americans and created lots of booby traps. The tunnels run for over 100 miles and several villages lived and survivedContinue reading “Cu Chi Tunnels”
