Da Lat

We had a fantastic flight to Da Lat on Vietnam Airways, much more comfort than easyJet, reclining seats and televisions. The flight took off 20 minutes early because everyone was on time, the plane made another 15 minutes with tailwind and our back packs were on the conveyor before we got there. We were in a cab and on the road out the airport before our advertised arrival time!

We stayed in a hippy style hotel of not considerable standard but it was home for 2 nights and we could bear this. Da Lat is again high above sea level so the temperatures were a little lower at about 20 degrees but much colder at night.

Da Lat has excellent soil and all over the landscape you see green houses and growing tents for flowers, coffee, strawberries and vegetables. The town is also full of colour from so many large flower arrangements.

We visited the crazy house which is a former hotel that has been transformed into a wacky building with weird architecture and a tourist attraction of the town.

I have previously mentioned the food but during that excursion we visited waterfalls, coffee plantations and national parks , sampled local cuisine too.
