Ode to Mr Wu

When thinking what would be a blast

We decided to do a local cooking class

We asked the hotel what to do

And they introduced us to Mr Wu

Now Mr Wu was a master chef

Considered by many to be the best

Mr Wu, he was short and stout

But he sure knew what he talked about

By motorbike we went to market square

And he explained the local produce there

Then he gave us apron he gave us hat

Grating tools and some sort of bat

He gave us orders, what to do

Chopping, mixing, all that stuff

“You not stop it’s not enough”

Mr Wu he worked us tireless

“No stopping for toilet or listening wireless”

Spring rolls first was what we learnt

Nice and crispy, not to burnt

Then came pancakes, full of flavour

No mucking about on best behaviour

Last we cooked the Red Snapper

I ate too much and needed the crapper

But we really did like Mr Wu

And if you met him you would too

So look him up if your in town

He makes you smile and never frown

Learn to cook like Vietnamese

For us no more Indian and Chinese.
